Supersolidaria alert to the citizens about cooperatives that do not report financial and legal information.

A new call of alert to the citizens made the Superintendence of the Solidary Economy around solidary organizations that are registered in the Chambers of Commerce of the country, but do not report their financial and legal information to the Superintendence and also offering services without legal authorization, in breaching all the characteristics of such organizations.

The most recent warning was made by Superintendent Delegate Juan Alberto Cortes Monsalve, for reason of a report submitted by the Chamber of Commerce, where there is evidence that more than of 1800 registered institutions violate the obligation to report their legal and accounting information.

To deal these irregularities, the Superintendence delegate for the Supervision of entities in the real sector, with the assistance of the Chambers of Commerce of the country, ahead of a direct follow-up of inspection and control to the organizations that under the name of cooperatives, are offering services to the public without comply the legal obligations to control entities.

Faced with this situation and others that concern the sector, Dr. Cortes Monsalve reminds to the community the following recommendations at the time of associate to a cooperative, found of employees or mutual association.
 

• Know the statutes and regulations of the organization.
• Not to make operations with cooperatives that do not report to the Superintendence
• Participate in the assemblies.
• Meet organs of administration and control of the organization.
• Submit complaints to the competent organ of the cooperative and, in case of no response, to the Superintendence of the Solidary Economy or to the competent Superintendence.
• Not sign blank documents or promissory notes.
• Read all the documents before signing.
• Do not sign documents that specify income and retirement as associate (accession and withdrawal of a partner is voluntary).
